Health & Safety

As well as offering long-lasting performance, InsulPro’s products contribute to safer, drier home environments.  The products themselves are safer to install and they are manufactured in a workplace with the highest levels of Health and Safety.
This was proven with InsulPro’s recent ACC Workplace Safety Management Practices programme completion; achieving Tertiary, the highest level possible,  and demonstrating our continued commitment to creating better working environments.

Why are our insulation products safe?

No Glues
There are NO glues used in making any of our insulation products – ceiling, wall or underfloor thermal insulation and acoustic insulation.

Glues are known to break down over time, and can release a chemical called formaldehyde. The World Health Organisation - International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) issued a press release in June 2004, notifying that there is now sufficient evidence to re-classify formaldehyde as carcinogenic to humans.

Low VOC's
Mammoth thermal and acoustic Insulation have been tested for formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and meet international criteria for these emissions.

Not itchy
Polyester is not itchy, or an irritant, so it is comfortable to install.  You don't even need protective gear to install it – it won’t irritate or scratch your skin.  In fact, you could just wrap yourself up in Mammoth and safely go to sleep (it’s the same material that most duvets and pillows are made of).

Fire Performance
All Mammoth insulation products are self extinguishing products. They have been tested in accordance with AS 1530.3. and meet the requirements of the New Zealand Building Code.

In addition - all of the Mammoth insulation products designed to be left exposed were independently tested or assessed in accordance with ISO 9705:1993 and AS ISO 9705 - 2003, for the purpose of determining the Group Number classification, as required by the New Zealand and Australian Building Codes respectively for the control of fire spread on interior wall and ceiling linings in addition to thermal and acoustic insulation for air condition ducting.

All of the Mammoth products tested and/or assessed in accordance to ISO 9705 achieved the highest Group Number score, 1S.

Moisture Resistant
Mammoth insulation products will not absorb moisture - should it get wet, once the source of moisture ceases, the insulation will dry and thermal performance is fully restored.

Safe to install
InsulPro’s insulation products are safe and easy to work with. Every pack comes with detailed fitting instructions. If you choose to install your own insulation, getting it right matters so please follow these instructions carefully.

Do you have downlights in your home?
When installing insulation in your home you need to consider the downlights in your ceiling.

Why are our insulation products healthy for you and your family?

Because it's drier and warmer, a well-insulated home is a lot healthier for families. A cold, damp home can promote mould and mildew, which can lead to asthma, recurring colds and flu.

A recent study by the Wellington School of Medicine confirmed that people who live in insulated homes are healthier.  The ideal minimum temperature recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO) for a home is 18 degrees Celsius. Without effective insulation, that temperature is difficult and expensive to achieve.

Installers of Mammoth thermal and acoustic Insulation have plenty of stories to back up this finding, like the experience of Te Aroha home owner Vera:

“I now have a much warmer and drier home
